Short description

• One guided dog sledding tour
• Two guided snow shoe tours
• Lunches in a wilderness hut (kota) and open fire

• 7 days, 6 nights (Saturday till Friday)

This program is for you how want to enjoy the nature by your own but also have some guided activities.
This is the snowiest place of whole Finland!

Season: December-April

Day by day

1. day: Welcome to Nature Point Paljakka. After dinner you get the first informations about your week. Later the cold winter evening invites you to a walk.
2. day: After breakfast you are introduced to dog sledding. Then we get the dogs dressed together and attach them to the sleds. When everybody is ready we start our first tour (ca 15 km). You will mush your own sled with 4 dogs. After the tour we take care and feed the dogs together before we eat lunch at Nature Point. In the afternoon you have time for discovering nature on your own.
3. day: After breakfast you can explore our beautiful nature by your own, with skies, snowshoes or kick sleds. At 12-13 o’clock we go by car to a kota (Finnish wilderness barbecue hut) and eat lunch. After lunch our guide takes you to a snowshoe tour in one of the last primal forest here in Europe. After the tour we´ll drive with the car back home.
4.  day: In your use are “gliding snowshoes”. These are a mix of snowshoes and skies. These are perfect to use in deep snow to discover the forest. You will find a marked trail that starts directly from Nature Point. After lunch at Nature Point you can go for example on a tour with a kick sled or just relax and enjoy.
5. day: Today you can explore our region with kick sleds. We’ll show you on the map the route and you explore by your own the surroundings. The route will take you to the top of Paljakka (old skiing resort) where you have magnificent 360 degree scenery. Lunch is served at Nature Point or you can also take some picnic lunch with you. 
6. day: Today our guide take you on a snow shoe tour to lake “Iso Särkijärvi” (3-4 km). You have a campfire barbecue for lunch and you can also try ice fishing.  We have on the lake also a traditional sauna with a ice hole, if the group want we can warm up the sauna with an additional fee. It’s possible to buy an additional husky tour instead of the snow shoe hike.
7. day: After breakfast and a last visit at the dogs kennels, we bring you to the airport.

Changes because of the weather or the group can become necessary.
